Affording Plastic Surgery in a Down Economy: Your Dreams Can Happen NOW!

It's TRUE! The economic times are NOT what they used to be!
The Plastic Surgery Industry was BOOMING back in 2001-2005. Towards the middle of 2006 is where the economy started to nose-dive. It seemed as though all those ambitious for plastic surgery were suddenly finding it easier and easier to make excuses to put off their cosmetic dreams. Indeed, the economy started to change!

Now, as the nation is vying to recover from this financial hardship, we see that patients are coming back around to live out their aesthetic goals---or maybe it is because the stress of the economy has finally taken its toll, effecting our physical exterior, pushing us towards some much needed rejuvenation!

There are "extra-positives" of all this for potential patients who have been eager for revamping themselves but too afraid to spend money.

1.) Financing is still an option! Surgery NOW and pay LATER! It is possible to get a personalized surgery loan www.carecredit.com . Apply online NOW to instantly see if you are approved. Care Credit even offer patients a 0% APR if you pay off your loan within 12 months!!!
And if YOU don't have the credit to be approved for the loan, you can always apply with a co-signer!

2.) You will find surgery prices to be most competitive these days. Everybody is looking for the best price possible, and Plastic Surgeon offices are aware of that. Of course, I've never been a believer that you should go to the "cheapest" because you just might get what you paid for. Besides, your deciding factors as to WHO will be your Plastic Surgeon certainly shouldn't be based on price alone.

3.) Refer a friend! A referral is the the highest form of flattery and often times if you refer a friend, you both might be offered a discounted Surgeon's fee as a way of saying "Thank you". That makes it a win-win-win situation!

Despite the financial hardships that practically everyone has been going through, you don't have to put yourself last! The time is NOW! Look your best to feel your best!

Call us TODAY for your personalized consultation and make your dreams happen!

Dr. Drew's interview with Dr. Layke and Dr. Danielpour on the hit tv show, "Extra"

Lifechangers: Dr. Drew Talks with Plastic SurgeonsOctober 13, 2010 | Lifechangers
"Extra" Lifechanger Dr. Drew Pinsky chatted with plastic surgeons Dr. John Layke and Dr. Payman Danielpour at The Grove to answer questions about getting work done.
Dr. Drew jumped in first, asking if Botox is dangerous. "Botox is safe. It is a neurotoxin but it's a purified protein," said Dr. Layke.

At what age should you go for plastic surgery? Dr. Danielpour answered, "The new trend is to avoid the wrinkles. Try to get in before the aging occurs, so you don't have to have the major facelifts when you get older. Your mid-20s is a good time to look for a little bit of facial rejuvenation."
Dr. Layke also said there's a trend -- for couples. "There are couples coming in to look younger together. It's no longer just the female coming in for a mommy makeover, now it's a little nip/tuck from the male's perspective. Couples are coming in for a facial rejuvenation."
Dr. Drew asked about the different procedures for breast implants. "There are three ways," Dr. Layke explained. "One's under the muscle and that's really done so you can mask the implant. The other way is to put it under the gland, under the breast tissue itself, that's for someone who really has breast tissue to begin with. It's very natural appearing and down time after surgery is very minimal. And there's a third way called a subfascial approach. It's really a combination of the two -- a connective tissue layer that's over the muscle but under the breast tissue."
Here are some other interesting questions and answers on plastic surgery:
What are the five most common plastic surgical procedures overall in decreasing order?
1. Breast Augmentation
2. Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty)
3. Eyelid Surgery
4. Liposuction
5. Tummy Tuck (abdominoplasty)
What is the most common plastic surgical procedure for men?
--Nose reshaping (rhinoplasty).
What is the most common plastic surgical procedure for women?
--Breast augmentation.
Are silicone implants dangerous?
--No. In 2006, the FDA reintroduced the next generation cohesive gel implants after several studies revealed no incidence of connective tissue disorders compared with saline.
How many different types of liposuction are there?
--Five: Suction-assisted liposuction, power-assisted liposuction, ultrasound-assisted liposuction, laser-assisted liposuction, vibration-assisted liposuction.
Is there a skin-tightening effect with laser-assisted liposuction?
Yes. There is a thermal effect on the underside of the dermis (deep layer of skin) that undergoes tightening and collagen stimulation.
What is the most basic form of liposuction?
--Suction-assisted liposuction.

Do you desire fuller, natural-looking lips? We have what you are looking for!

As you age, your lips begin to deflate which may result in an aged or aesthetically unpleasing appearance. Temporary dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Collagen, Perlane, or other facial fillers can be injected into the lips every 6-12 months to increase their size and eliminate fine lines.
BEFORE
AFTER
A more permanent solution, but with a longer recovery time, are surgeries such as fat transfer, dermal grafting, alloderm implant(s), or silicone injections.
What is our most popular treatment for lip augmentation treatment?
JUVÉDERM™ !!!!

What is JUVÉDERM™?
This is a smooth, cross-linked hyaluronic acid-based clear gel, which is injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle. JUVÉDERM ™ is by far the most in-demand treatment for lip enhancement, wrinkle reduction, and dermal filler.

How does JUVÉDERM™ work and what are the advantages?
Results are visible immediately following treatment. It instantly lifts and adds volume to the areas being treated, creating a fuller, plump and pouty look. The skin remains soft and natural to the touch. No skin test is required and there is no downtime. You can expect to experience some swelling after the procedure which will resolve within two to three days. Your lips will retain a fuller and sculpted look. Though touch up treatments may be desired to further enhance your desired look, one treatment can deliver the desired results you are looking for. Your results can last up anywhere from 6 months to a year. We find it best to under-estimate the duration in which a product could last to decrease your chances of disappointment.

What are some of the possible JUVÉDERM™ side effects?
There are no reported allergic reactions. The most common side effects with any injection include possible bleeding, and tenderness, redness, or swelling. These side effects last, on average, 2 to 3 days.

So why JUVÉDERM™ above the rest?
It’s a quick, easy, low-risk treatment with controllability and no surgery required (so it also allows it to be more affordable than surgery). It has a more natural feel and look than a lot of the other products being offered. And though it is not permanent, it is longer lasting than that of Collagen, and other Hylaronic Acid fillers.

Earlobe and Belly Button Piercing Repair

Body piercing. For many years, body piercing has been a way to artistically and fashionably express ourselves.
Unfortunately, in some cases, what once was a small piercing has over time (or due to injury) caused the skin to tear or hole to elongate. In the case of ear-piercings, this may be due to wearing earrings that are too heavy or due to the pressure of their ear pressed against the telephone.

How is the piercing-repair performed?
Local anesthetic is injected with a very fine needle to numb the area being treated and prevent any discomfort. Then, the piercing tract is completely cut out. The incision is repaired by using fine stitching to close the new wound. Stitches are removed after one to two weeks.

The procedure is quick. It only takes about 30 minutes on average to repair a single piercing. No down-time required.

Dysport: Another Type of "Botox"?

Botox. You've heard the word, and very likely you or someone you know has had this treatment done.

So what is Dysport? If you haven't heard of Dysport yet the word will probably become more and more familiar to you!

Dysport Explained:

Prescription Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults less than 65 years of age.

How does Dysport work? With just 1 injection into each of 5 points between and above the eyebrows, Dysport stops the signal from the nerve to the muscles, ultimately resulting in a reduction of muscle activity and temporarily preventing contraction of the muscles that cause frown lines.

Injection sites for Dysport for frown lines

The untreated facial muscles still contract normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.

You should not be treated with Dysport more frequently than every 90 days.

Dysport is certainly being compared to Botox though the measurements and pricing differ. It is always advised to speak with your healthcare professional about what is best for you and all potential risks involved.

Does this mean we are saying, "Bye Bye, Botox?" Not likely. But it does mean that we are making room for Dysport...
